Frank Ross '10 Officially Hired as Special Teams Coordinator by the Texans

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Frank Ross '10 has been hired by the NFL's Houston Texans as the team's new Special Teams Coordinator. Ross will work under new head coach David Culley and fellow John Carroll alum Nick Caserio '98. 

The past three seasons, Ross has been the assistant special teams coach for the Indianapolis Colts, coaching Adam Vinatieri his final two seasons, punter Rigoberto Sanchez, and rookie kicker Rodrigo Blackenship, who finished fifth in the league in scoring this season. Before his time in Indianapolis, Ross also worked for Caserio in New England for two years in the personnel department as a Pro Scout. 

As a player, Ross was a 4-year letterwinner and three-time All-OAC player. He set the school record for career receptions with 206, averaging 5.2 per game throughout his career, while adding 1,039 career return yards. Ross also tallied an impressive 14 career touchdowns. Following his Blue Streak career, Ross was chosen to represent John Carroll in the Ohio National Guard's North vs. South Senior Bowl and also the Tazon de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars) in Mexico City, Mexico where he was selected captain and game MVP. 

Ross also coached at John Carroll under head coach Tom Arth '03 in between his time in New England and Indianapolis. He was the quarterbacks coach in 2013, and was then promoted to special teams coordinator in 2014, where he remained before being hired for the 2018 season as a special teams assistant for the Colts.
