Men's Track & Field Move Up National Rankings with Good Day at BW

BEREA, Ohio -- The weather suited well for John Carroll University Men's Track and Field, as they traveled to Berea for the Sparky Adams Invite going up against Baldwin Wallace, Otterbein, Marietta, and Capital for the third meet of the outdoor season.

We got started with the 800m race with junior Sam Coe running a personal best of 2:01.88 to place second for the Blue Streaks.

In the 10,000m run, sophomore Alex Phillip (29:30.12) and senior Jamie Dailey (29:49.21) shattered the school record and put themselves first and third in the nation with their performances today. Phillip placed first, while Dailey placed third in the race.

A couple of other guys made their debuts in the event, with senior Andrew Miner running 31:43.98 and sophomore Adam Shah clocking in at 32:02.87.

In the field events, for the Triple Jump, freshman Jimmy Kartsonas kept his success rolling places first with a mark of 12.93m and freshman Willis Goodwin placed second with a mark of 12.83m. In the Shot Put, senior Joe McNulty scored a third place finish with a mark of 12.74m and sophomore Zach Szafarski finished fifth with a mark of 12.30m to round up the scoring for the Blue Streaks.

Men's Track & Field will travel to Mount Union on Saturday, April 10, competing against Otterbein, Mount Union, Muskingum, and Capital for the fourth meet of the outdoor season.
