Men's Tennis Paves Path to OAC Championship Appearance with Win over Mount

Box Score MASON, Ohio -- The Blue Streaks wasted little time in taking care of business.

John Carroll University Men's Tennis rolled past Mount Union in the Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Semifinal, 5-0.

The Blue Streaks captured all three doubles matches and won two singles competitions to clinch the semifinal sweep at the Lindner Family Tennis Center.

With the win, the Blue Streaks advance to the OAC Championship on Saturday vs. Otterbein University. 

Andy Siciliano and Mark Beebe kicked things off with a key victory at No. 1 doubles. The veteran combo rolled to an 8-2 conquest of Tony Massucci and Justin Kelley of Mount Union.

Logan Langovsky and Grant Sarnowski combined at No. 2 doubles and picked up another win. The duo corralled a 8-3 victory. Parker Holyn and Doug Moore rounded things out with a No. 3 doubles triumph, 8-4. 

At No. 2 singles, Logan Langovsky notched a double bagel, 6-0, 6-0, placing John Carroll within a short distance of a win.  

Andrew Triner then wrapped up the victory with a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2, paving John Carroll's path to the OAC Championship. 

At the time of the clinch, Siciliano held a 6-1, 3-0 lead at No. 1 singles; Beebe led 6-4, 1-0 at No. 3; Sarnowski possessed a 6-1, 3-2 advantage at No. 4; and Alvaro Estrada Rosabal was on the precipice of a win at No. 6, 6-1, 5-0. 

The Blue Streaks will be going for a sixth straight OAC title tomorrow at the Lindner Family Tennis Center. John Carroll and Otterbein last met in the postseason in 2017 in the OAC Semifinal.
