WILMINGTON, Ohio -- From start to finish, Saturday's road meet was a rousing success for John Carroll Women's Swimming & Diving.

The Blue Streaks blew past the Wilmington College Fightin' Quakers, 160-83.

The road victory completes the regular season, as the team turns its attention to the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships in a few weeks.

"Today we focused on perfecting our race strategies going into the championship," said Head Coach Tanner Barton. "Times weren't of utmost importance, especially since Wilmington has a short course meter (SCM) and not a short course yard (SCY) pool."

The Blue Streaks fired out of the gates with a win in the 200 (SC Meter) Medley Relay. Spenser Kale, Regan Gunzy, Rachel Halapchuk, and Allie Geletka combined for a time of 2:12.23. In third, JCU's "B" relay of Elena Kessler, Bojena Gross, Audrey Prisby, and Maddie Jarosz got good experience and timed in at 2:21.36.

Annamarie Habusta notched a win in the 800 Meter Free, winning the event by 43 seconds with a time of 10:56.70. Lauren Spence and Isabella Genise followed with a 1-2 win in the 200 Meter Free, with respective times of 2:19.64 and 2:24.96.

Kale then took the pool and won the 50 Meter Backstroke, tallying a time of 32.34. Maddie Panus followed with a runner-up mark of 33.26. Regan Gunzy, Allie Geletka, and Gross then notched a 1-2-3 sweep in the 50 Meter Breaststroke, with times of 37.86, 38.58, and 39.42.

Halapchuk took center stage in the 100 Meter Fly, and killed it, with a time of 1:12.07 to win the race. Genise got second with a mark of 1:14.63.

Panus soared to first in the 50 Meter Free following, clocking in at 29.49. Kessler captured third in 30.57. The wins kept coming in the 100 Meter Free, with Spence doing the honors with a winning time of 1:05.47.

Halapchuk's exciting day kept rolling in the 100 Meter Back, as she touched the wall at 1:12.50 for first. Geletka followed by careening to first in the 100 Breaststroke, clocking a time of 1:24.71. Genise then excelled in the 400 Free, winning the race by a wide margin with a time of 5:05.57.

Halapchuk and Geletka then got another two wins in the 50 Meter Fly and the 400 Meter IM. Halapchuk roared for a time of 32.35, while Geletka garnered a time of 6:09.87.

"Rachel Halapchuk had a great day, racing to first in three individual events," said Barton. "Allie Geletka also swam the 400 IM for the first time and walked away with the victory. Our women truly took care of business in every event."

The day ended with another JCU conquest, this time in the 200 Meter Free Relay. Gunzy, Prisby, Habusta, and Panus combined for a time of 2:00.08, completing the clean sweep of the day for JCU. The Blue Streaks did not lose a race on Saturday.

John Carroll now will prep for the OAC Championships, beginning on Wednesday, February 16 with the 800 Free Relay.
