Nominations Close for the 2022 JCU Athletic Hall of Fame on January 10

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Nominations for the John Carroll University Athletic Hall of Fame are open until Monday, January 10.

Nominations are being accepted virtually. Do you know an athlete, coach, team, or honorary member deserving of induction? You can nominate them by clicking here and filling out the accompanying form.

The objective of the JCU Athletic Hall of Fame is to honor men and women who have experienced exceptional athletic achievement, coaching excellence, or have made a significant impact on the John Carroll University athletic program. Thus, there are four categories for the JCU Athletic Hall of Fame: Athlete, coach, team, or honorary.

To qualify as an athlete, the person must have been graduated at least ten years from John Carroll University. To qualify in the honorary category, the person must be deemed to have made a significant impact on the John Carroll athletic program in any capacity – whether it be as an athlete, a coach, an administrator or a benefactor.

The Class of 2022 will be inducted and celebrated during Homecoming Weekend in the fall. The Class of 2021 inductees were Dave Hosea (Basketball, class of 1976), Tony Szczesiul (Men's Soccer, class of 1986), Jason Kessen (Wrestling, class of 1996), Bryan Mohler (Men's Tennis, class of 1999), Brandon Mimes (Men's Basketball, class of 2008), Jamie Smrdel (Softball, class of 2010), and Lee Jennings (Women's Basketball, class of 2011), and 2003 Men's Soccer. Szczesiul will be honored along with the Class of 2022, as he was unable to attend the Class of 2021 induction ceremony.

The deadline for nominations is January 10, 2022. Any nomination received after this date will automatically be entered into the pool of candidates for the class of 2023.
