Clark, Correia, Phillip Bust Down 3 More Men's Track & Field Records in Boston

BOSTON -- On Friday, it was the best Distance Medley Relay in NCAA Division III history.

On Saturday, it was three new school records.

Ian Pierson, Caleb Correia, Alex Philip, and Garrett Clark had one of the best days in recent memory for JCU Men's Track & Field has had in a long time on Friday, and today was a pretty good follow up as the individual events were held today at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational, hosted by Boston University.

Garrett Clark ran the best 200m dash in school history this afternoon, a record time of 21.66. Not only was impressive to John Carroll's high standards, Clark finished 13th out of 206 of the best sprinters, and fourth of the Division III runners at the invitational. This time tied for second in the entire Division III coming into this weekend, and should stay in the top 10.

Next up was Caleb Correia in the 800m. His season's best coming the weekend was 1:54.37. Today, he beat that by two seconds with a time of 1:52.53. This was the eighth best time of Division III runners of the event, and would have been the third best coming into the weekend according to USTFCCCA.com. This is Correia's second time breaking a school record this season, as he did so in the 1000m earlier this year.

Finally, after about nine total hours of John Carroll Track and Field today, Alex Phillip ran the fourth-best 3K race in Division III history. His time of 8:07.92 is the second-best time in Division III this season, it just so happens that Aiden Ryan of Williams was also at BU this weekend and ran a 7:55.48, the best in Division III history at a record-eligible track. This was the third school record broken tonight, and Alex Phillip continues to set the record books aflame.

After a crazy, awesome, magical 24 hours in Boston, the Blue Streaks return to Northeast Ohio next weekend and will be split up between Kent State and Case Western Reserve.
