Mike Harris and Ulysses Hall bring great experience to the coaching staff.
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio -- Notorious for strong defenses, John Carroll Football has added two new coaches to aid Defensive Coordinator Jeff Long for the 2022 season.

Mike Harris has been brought on to coach the safeties, while Ulysses Hall will be the new defensive line coach / recruiting coordinator.

Harris comes fresh off of a stint in the Windy City, where he was an offensive assistant for the Chicago Bears for three seasons. While with the Bears, Harris was a key cog in pregame preparation through scouting reports, film breakdown, and breaking down opposing defenses. On gameday, Harris was responsible for charting play calls and defenses, warming up wide receivers, and providing information to the Bears' passing game coordinator.

Before his stop in Chicago, Harris spent parts of four years with multiple NCAA programs in the facets of wide receiver coach, tight ends coach, and running backs coach. Harris coached first for Wilkes University and followed that with a stint at Muhlenberg University, his alma mater.

Hall has seven years of recruiting experience and has developed nearly double-digit NCAA D-I players. Hall worked a plethora of roles for two Georgia high schools for four years to begin his coaching career. At Decatur and Centennial High Schools, Hall was a main recruiter, defensive line coach, and also spent time as tight ends coach and running game coordinator. Following his days in Georgia, Hall made his first trip to Ohio, where he became the defensive line coach for Ohio Wesleyan.

Hall has had an impressive last three seasons, spending a year each at a different school, seeing what he touched turn to gold. At Trinity University, Hall coached a true freshman to being an honorable mention for the conference slate, before turning in an impressive season at Briar Cliff University. Hall's defensive line featured an NAIA All-American and a GPAC all conference player who recorded 8.5 sacks. Alderson Broaddus University saw Hall develop gameplans and plan camps as well as coach the defensive line. In his playing days at Shaw University, Hall was a three-time CIAA champion and three time captain of the defensive line.

In 2014, Hall made the American Football Coaches Association's 30 Under 30 list. This is a very prestigious honor from the AFCA. Additionally, Hall participated in the NCAA's NFL Coaching Academy in 2018.

Hall is a native Northeast Ohioan, attending Benedictine and then graduating from Bedford High School.

Enriched in experience, the Blue Streaks are excited to add two coaches to the defensive side of the ball for the 2022 season.
