Men's Tennis Stays Unbeaten in OAC Play with Win over Baldwin Wallace

BEREA, Ohio -- On a sunny but chilly Thursday afternoon, John Carroll Men's Tennis remained unbeaten in conference play.

In a crosstown matchup with Baldwin Wallace University, the Blue Streaks breezed past the Yellow Jackets, bouncing back from a 7-0 loss at Edinboro on Wednesday.

The Blue Streaks improved to 8-7 overall, 5-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play.

Excellence in doubles play set the stage for a good day. Gustavo Garcia and Mark Beebe played outstanding tennis as per usual at No. 1 doubles, firing to an 8-5 victory. Logan Langovsky and Alvaro Rosabal teamed up at No. 2 doubles, dominanting en route to a 8-0 conquest.

Sean Padden and Nathan Palinkas played the closest battle at No. 3. The young JCU combo earned an 8-7 victory, via a 7-5 tiebreaker, to earn the third JCU doubles win.

At No. 1 singles, Garcia remained hot with a 6-4, 6-1 win. Langovsky also played quite well at No. 2, 6-4 and 6-2. Beebe played quick at No. 3, firing to a 6-1, 6-0 conquest.

Palinkas bounced back after a defeat last weekend, conquering his foe at No. 4, 6-4, 6-3. Aeneas Hines returned at No. 5 singles, earning a double bagel win of 6-0, 6-0. Griffin Millspaugh finished off the JCU sweep with a 6-4, 7-6 (7-0 tiebreaker) triumph.

The Blue Streaks have an important match with Ohio Northern on Friday next, heading to Ada.
