UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- The first home meet of the 2023-2024 season for the John Carroll Swimming & Diving team was in front of a packed home crowd. With not an empty seat in the stands and people along the rail, the Blue Streaks did not disappoint.

The JCU Women's Swimming & Diving team dominated for a win of 195-104.

The night started off with the women's 400 Yard Medley Relay. JCU took an early lead due to Lauren Koppelmann starting off on fire. Olivia Goodman extended that lead, giving Grace Roberts great position to keep the lead, and Abby Zablotny brought home a first win of the night at 4:09.20. The 40 lap, 1000 Yard Free race was up next. Mount Union took first and second in this race, with freshman Hannah Smith coming in close behind in third.

The 200 Yard Free was taken home by sophomore Mairin Dalziel, who finished 4 seconds before the next finisher at1:56.09. Mairin was the women's OAC swimmer of the week last week and is showing why she earned that title.

The meet moved quickly into the 100 Backstroke, easily won by Lauren Koppelmann flying through the water. The home team earned all three podium finishes in the 100 Yard breaststroke, Olivia Goodman finishing first, Regan Gunzy finishing second, and Kyan Snider-Mills notching third with times of 1:11.98, 1:12.83, and 1:14.33, respectively.

The Blue Streaks swept again in the 200 Butterfly with Grace Roberts, Marina Sneyd, and Bella Genise finishing in that order. The shortest and most electric race of the night was another win tallied by Mairin Dalziel, followed by Abby Zablotny

Coming back from the diving break, Dalziel won another race in the 100 Freestyle with a time of 27.86. The next race, 200 Backstroke, was also won by a Blue Streak in Lauren Koppelmann with a mark of 34.25. The 200 Breaststroke was won by Goodman once again and filled by Regan Gunzy in second, tallying more points for the home team. Another long race was up next with the 500 yard freestyle and Sneyd brought home a podium finish with third for the Streaks with a time of 5:42.36. The following race ended in a JCU win from freshman Grace Roberts in the 100 yard butterfly. Senior Anna Glass earned a third-place finish in that race with time of a 1:05.99.

Rounding out the last stretch of races, the 200 Individual Medley was taken home by Olivia Goodman and Marina in the first and second spots with times of 2:18.51 and 2:21.70, respectively. The last race of the day was the 200 Freestyle Relay, closing out a dominant day with a final win by Mairin Dalziel, Anna Glass, Abby Zablotny, and Grace Roberts
