JCU vs. Otterbein (JCU wins, 28-12)

Otterbein looked good in the early going, as the Cardinals tallied a win at 125 via forfeit and a decision win at 141, with a Ty Daugherty tech fall victory at 133.

A pair of hard-earned victories by decision turned the tides for John Carroll. Kyle Bizjak fended off Nathan Leko at 149 with a narrow 4-2 victory. Patrick McGraw fought off a strong challenge from Austin Amens at 157. The Saint Ignatius grad got out to a hot start, but allowed a 3-point takedown in the second period. Amens narrowed the deficit further to just one point, but McGraw tallied a takedown to ensure the victory. McGraw's win pushed JCU ahead, 11-9.

Otterbein briefly stole the lead with a win at 165. But from there, it was all Blue Streaks.

Daniel Devera started the winning streak with a tech fall, 16-1, at 174 to re-take the lead. Jesse Kanatzar kept things rolling with a clean conquest with a 14-3 major decision at 184.

Bear Horgan sealed the deal for the Blue Streaks with a victory at 197. The freshman roared for a 21-3 tech fall victory, pushing the lead to an insurmountable margin of 25-12. The Blue Streaks then finished off the home win over Otterbein, as Thomas Lunt eked past Otterbein's Billy Reed Bodey with a narrow 2-1 decision victory.

JCU vs. Hiram (JCU wins, 46-6)

The Terriers got on the board in the early going, with a forfeit win at 125. But from there, it was all Blue Streaks.

Ty Daugherty evened things out with a win, with Americo Milani taking the lead thanks to a 25-18 decision victory. Kyle Bizjak kept the train rolling with a quick first-period pin.

Patrick McGraw continued his run into the record books next, as the Chardon native advanced to a tie for second all-time in wins. The fifth-year Streak joins Joe Schmidt (1987-90) and Mark Hawald, Jr. (2002-05) with 122 wins, with three more needed to grab the record from his former teammate, Andrew Perelka.

Ryan Forrest took the mat next at 165 and provided one of the closest wins of the day, a 13-12 decision over Hiram's Seth Holt. Daniel Devera added six more points to the board with a forfeit win.

The day concluded with three dominant victories for the Blue Streaks.  Jesse Kanatzar and Bear Horgan notched first-period tech falls at 184 and 197, and Thomas Lunt capped things off with a nice pin.

The Blue Streaks will take some time off for finals week before returning to action after Christmas for the Citrus Invitational on December 29-30.
