Women's Track & Field Performs Well at Ashland and Mount Union

Victoria Miller enjoyed a nice effort in the triple jump. 
Thankfully for the Blue Streaks, John Carroll Women's Track & Field did not need to travel too far this weekend.

JCU's Sprints, Jumps, Distance athletes journeyed to nearby Ashland for the Jud Logan Light Giver Open at Ashland University. Meanwhile, JCU's Throwers and Jumpers headed to Alliance for the Jim Wuske Open at the University of Mount Union. 

Here's what transpired this weekend for the Blue & Gold. 

Ashland's Jud Logan Light Giver Open
On Friday, Jen Massucci highlighted JCU's efforts. The distance standout marked down a time of 18:17.72 in the 5000m, finishing fourth. 

Victoria Miller also scored 11th in the triple jump with a tally of 10.39m. 

On Saturday, the Blue Streaks turned in some solid results. 

Ellie Kitsmiller made some good noise in the 800m, finishing ninth with a time of 2:20.94. Abby Schroff followed in 11th at 2:21.62. Morgan Dobos and Erica Esper finished 17th and 18th. In the 400m, Kaleigh McNamara penned a time of 1:02.36 for 18th place. 

On the distance side, Amanda Keim turned in a ninth place effort in the 3000m with a time of 10:31.24. Morgan Edwards followed in 14th at 10:36.20. 

Claire Eberhardt led the delegation in the mile with a 13th place finish of 5:13.07, while Katy Fellenstein earned 19th in 5:19.80. 

To close out the track events, Dobos, Kitsmiller, Schroff, and McNamara combined for fifth place in the 4x400. The JCU quartet tallied a time of 4:08.48. 

On the field side of things, Genevieve Arnold tabbed ninth in the long jump with a mark of 5.29m, done on her second attempt.

Caroline Beery continued her strong year, catapulting to a height of 3.51m for third place. Meanwhile, Meredith Glavach tabbed ninth by surpassing 3.21m. 

Kelsey Dunn got a fifth-place mark in the weight throw in 13.92m, while Brooklyn Beckford followed in 11th at 12.45m. Emily Blasko nabbed 14th at 12.20m, while Cara Jewett and Sarah Hart notched throws of 11.72m and 11.07m. 

Beckford and Dunn swapped spots in the shot put, as Beckford finished in 10th at 10.87m, while Dunn followed in 12th at 10.69m and Hart came in 21st in 9.99m. 

Michaela Bryan earned a tie for fourth in the high jump by getting over 1.53m, while Sarah Shreffler earned 14th by getting above the bar at 1.33m.
