Dakota Houston Sprints To Two All-American Finishes Highlighting Final Day Of NCAA Outdoor Championships

Dakota Houston Earns Two All-American Accolades On Day Three Of NCAA Outdoor Championships
LA CROSSE, WI. – Two athletes represented JCU on the last day of NCAAs. 

Dakota Houston ran in both the final events of the 100 and 200 meter dash races, while Leah Fritsch made her national debut in the javelin throw at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships hosted by the University of Wisconsin La-Crosse.

The sophomore out of Beachwood, Ohio continues her rise on the national stage.

She came away with two First-Team All-American accolades in both the 100 and 200 meter dash races after qualifying in the preliminary rounds the last two days.

Houston placed seventh overall with a time of 11.80 in the 100 meter dash final, while placing fifth overall in the 200 meter dash final with a time of 24.21. 

Dakota is now an eight-time All-American at JCU. 

Fritsch earned herself a top 20 finish in the javelin throw to put an end to her senior campaign as a Blue Streak.

She threw a mark of 40.25 meters (132-0) to place 18th overall in the event. 

Throughout the year, this group showed up. 

Getting five qualifiers to the NCAA Championships was a major step for the team moving forward.

After coming off of two conference championship victories from the indoor and outdoor seasons, the women are poised for national accomplishments and even greater success in the coming years.

With 11 seniors graduating from the program, there will be lots of promise coming into next year to help regain success and build upon opportunities that can help them in the future.
