Sandra King & Women’s 4x100 Meter Relay Secure Second-Team All-American Status On Day Two Of NCAAs

LA CROSSE, WI. – One individual and relay placed in the top 10 for the Blue Streaks to highlight day two of the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

The women's track & field team returned for the second day of competition at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse this afternoon.

Sandra King and the women's 4x100 meter relay were named Second-Team All-Americans for their 10th place finishes in both events.

The women's 4x100 meter relay of Rosie Murray, Dakota Houston, Paige Munchick, and Sandra King got the day started for the women placing 10th overall in the event with a time of 46.97 seconds. They would miss a spot in the final by .06. 

Up next was Sandra in the 400 meter dash prelim as she just missed a qualifying spot to the final, but was good enough to break her own school record with a time of 55.55 seconds. 

This is the third consecutive week that Sandra has broken her own school record in the event. 

Dakota Houston returned for her second individual event of the weekend, competing in the 100 meter dash preliminary round. 

Her time of 11.73 seconds earned herself a spot in the final, placing fourth overall in the race. 

Next Up
Dakota Houston will represent the Blue Streaks in both the 100 and 200 meter dash finals tomorrow at 2:30pm (CDT) and 3:40pm (CDT).
