Women's Tennis Cruises Past Muskies in Sunday Sweep

ZANESVILLE, Ohio -- After rain washed out Saturday's contest, John Carroll Women's Tennis traveled to face Muskingum on a sunny Sunday.

The result was a dominant victory that pushed the Blue Streaks to 2-0 in Ohio Athletic Conference play.

The Blue & Gold sailed past the Fighting Muskies, 9-0, at the Zanesville High School courts.

The Blue Streaks set the tone with strong results in doubles play. Mia Zivkovic and Felicity Kolb formed an unstoppable duo at #1 doubles, rolling to an 8-0 triumph. Kaylyn Gimbel and Caroline Chandler needed a bit more time at #2, but got a win all the same, 8-4. Jaclyn Voss and Anna Vitale proved victorious at well at the third doubles spot, 8-2.

Zivkovic's dominance continued at #1 singles, as the Brecksville native dispatched her foe with a 6-0, 6-0 result. Vitale also achieved the coveted double bagel at #6 singles.

Kolb cruised at the second spot, 6-0, 6-2, as did Voss at the fourth position, 6-0, 6-1. Gimbel garnered a 6-2, 6-2 conquest at #3, and Chandler also got the job done at #4, 6-3, 6-1.

The flawless result gives John Carroll great momentum heading into a non-conference affair in two days. The Blue Streaks will head to play Oberlin indoors on Tuesday, with another OAC contest following next Saturday.
