Men's Golf Tabs Fourth at Cav Classic in Return to Northeast Ohio

Jack Wymard led the way for the Blue Streaks. 
CANTON, Ohio -- On Tuesday, John Carroll Men's Golf took advantage of the wonderful weather.

The Blue Streaks competed at the Cav Classic at Glenmoor Country Club, playing two rounds in the team's first tournament back in Northeast Ohio. 

The Blue Streaks finished fourth as a team with a total tally of 608.

John Carroll compiled a score of 309 in Round 1 and 299 in Round 2 for a team total of 608, finishing +32 for the day.

In the opening round, Jacob Hazen and Zach Brinks paved the way with identical marks of 75. Jack Wymard followed with a solid score of 79. Nolan Adams provided the final mark, carding an 80. Grant Lumley rounded out the squad with an 81.

In the second round, Wymard roared with an outstanding effort. The senior penciled in a 72 in his scorecard, good for even. That effort pushed him up the leaderboard significantly to a tie for 13th place for the day with a total of 151. Brinks remained steady in his second round with a mark of 76, earning him a tie with Wymard. 

Hazen tabbed a 77 to finish off the day with a 152, tying for 18th. Right behind him for the day was Adams, who heated up with a mark of 74 to cap off his day on a strong note, equaling a total of 154 for 25th. Lumley completed the JCU efforts with an 83 in the second stanza, with a mark of 164. 

The Blue Streaks entered three individuals in the tournament, as well. Anthony Nuzzo finished first amongst the trifecta, with an 80 to start and a 77 to conclude the day at 157. Andrew Schwartz accumulated identical marks of 79 in each round, totaling 158. Jack Gerborg wrapped it up with an 81 in round one before tabbing an 85 in round two.

The Blue & Gold will be back in action at the Nye Intercollegiate April 15-16 at Wooster Country Club.
