Justy VonLehmden guided the team again, finishing in second place

WILLOUGHBY & SHAKER HEIGHTS, Ohio – Continuing the annual fall tradition, John Carroll Men's Golf played host the past two days.

Alongside JCU Women's Golf, the JCU Men's Golf squad hosted the Donald Ross Invitational. The first round was played at Manakiki Golf Course in Willoughby on a sun-soaked Sunday and the second round was held at Shaker Heights Country Club in Shaker Heights on a rainy afternoon. Both courses were designed by the legendary Donald Ross.

John Carroll Men's Golf played solidly, but the JCU "A" Team settled for second place with a line of 302-296-598, 11 strokes back of first-place Otterbein. The JCU "B" Team tied for fifth place with a tally of 309-305-614.

Justy VonLehmden guided the squad as he's done all fall. The Findlay native opened with a 75 (+3) on Sunday before firing back with an even 71 on Monday. The Saint John's Jesuit native roared for an eagle on No. 3 at Shaker, mastering the 551-yard Par 5. Birdies on No. 9 and No. 15 also stood out. For the tournament, the junior tied for second.

London Hoyser and Owen Tehan tied for the second-best score on the squad, each carding totals of 151 to tie for 11th. Hoyser opened with a 78 before firing back with a 73 (+2), hitting par on holes 1-11 in impressive fashion. Tehan was more even-keeled with a 75 on Sunday and a 76 on Monday.

Austin Malley tabbed a 76 on both days. A trio of birdies, including back-to-back efforts on No. 15 and 16, eased the pain of some bogeys on the front nine in the rain on Monday. His total of 152 placed him a tie for 20th. Kamden Mowry brought up the rear, clopping a 76 in the first round and a 78 in the second round.

Daniel Donahue, Max Devins, and Wade Boyle showcased the depth of the team by tying for the top score on the "B" team. Donahue scuffled in Willoughby with an 80, but roared for an even 71 on Monday, with four birdies in the second round. Devins experienced the reverse, with a 74 on Sunday and a 77 on Monday. His opening round featured four birdies on the back nine with a 34 (-2) on his final nine. Boyle looked similar with a 73-78 line. His Sunday was impressive, tabbing back-to-back-to-back birdies on No. 11-13.

Regan Logan (82-79-161) and Paul Litrenta (82-80-162) rounded things out for the B team.
