Women's Track & Field Wrap Up Regular Season with Style

John Carroll's Women's Track and Field traveled to North Canton on Thursday to compete in the Walsh Invitational. The Blue Streaks were successful in multiple events and proceeded to add victories to their successful season so far. 

The Blue Streaks set themselves in a nice position in the field events. Genevieve Arnold represented the Blue Streaks well finishing fourth in the long jump. Arnold reached the 5.17 meter mark on her second attempt. 

Following the long jump, Tori Miller finished in first place, hitting 10.77m on her third attempt. Sarah Saad finished right after in second place, placing at the 9.63 mark. 

During the discus, the Streaks had two top ten finishers, as Kelsey Dunn secured second place tallying a mark of 44.58m. Breanna Berwald placed in tenth place with a mark of 35.36m. Both Dunn and Berwald placed highly in a very competitive event. 

As for the running events, Morgan Edwards, Annie Higgins, and Amanda Keim finished in the top ten back to back for the 1500m. Edwards placed fifth with a final time of 4:49.95, with Higgins right behind her finishing sixth with a time of 4:50.74. Keim also finished strong in seventh place with a time of 4:50.86. 

In the 400m dash, Kaleigh McNamara cracked the top tep, finishing eighth with a 1:00.99 total time. 

Continuing the success for the Blue Streaks, three competitors placed in the top ten for the 100m. Taylor Anthony finished strong in fourth place with a time of 12.42. Rosie Murray was not far along as she finished sixth with a total time of 12.64. Carrying the top ten placement for JCU, Mia Scott settled in ninth place, tallying a time of 12.79. 

Claire Eberhardt and Morgan Dobos also placed back to back in the 800m run. Eberhardt finished sixth with 2:22.37 as a final time, with Dobos right behind her finishing seventh with a time of 2:22.66. 

In the 400m hurdles, Rosie Murray had an impressive placement of third place with a time of 1:06.13. Advancing the Blue Streaks success in the sprints category, Taylor Anthony placed second with a time of 25.49 in the 200m. Arnold placed third right behind Anthony, just short with a time of 25.57. Mia Scott carried the Blue Streaks as well, finishing ninth with a time of 26.81. 

John Carroll had their most success in the 5000m. Sydney Jenko had a nice time of 18:19.85 and placed first overall. 

Additionally on Saturday, the team's pole vaulters traveled to Ashland to compete. Caroline Beery led the JCU contingent with a mark of 3.43m for 13th. 

Now with these meets complete, all that is ahead of the Blue Streaks is the postseason, starting with the OAC Championships.
