ALLIANCE, Ohio – On Thursday and Friday, John Carroll Women's Track & Field competed at the John Homon Invite at Mount Union.

The Blue Streaks tallied some nice PRs and wins to roll into Easter Break with good momentum.

John Carroll's throwers opened the fun on Thursday. A quartet finished top 8 in the hammer throw, with Kelsey Dunn helming the effort. The veteran tallied fourth with a mark of 40.95m. Sarah Hart (39.13m), Cara Jewett (38.27m), and Breanna Berwald (38.05m) finished 6-7-8. Also on Thursday, Leah Fritsch snagged sixth in the javelin throw at 28.58m.

On Friday, Fritsch followed things up with a height of 2.93m for sixth, following Meredith Glavach, who earned third (3.08m). In the shot put, Brooklyn Beckford (10.47m), Kelsey Dunn (10.39m) and Sarah Hart (10.19m) finished sixth, seventh, and ninth, respectively. Berwald also repped JCU in the discus, clipping fifth with a toss of 36.17m, a new PR.

Sticking with the field events, one of the top highlights occurred in the triple jump. Tori Miller won the day with a leap of 10.67m. Olivia Stefka achieved a new outdoor best with a mark of 10.24m. Massey Andrykovitch (9.59m) and Sarah Sadd (9.39m) earned fourth and fifth to give Miller and Stefka plenty of company.

The Blue Streaks registered two in the top three of the long jump, as well. Genevieve Arnold leaped to 5.22m for second while Emmy Bryan hopped to 4.87m for third.

Looking at the sprints, Taylor Anthony took the cake with a top time of 12.50 in the 100m dash. Genevieve Arnold also looked strong with a time of 12.80 in the finals. Rosie Murray also reigned victorious today, standing above the rest in the 400m hurdles. The freshman from Chardon slimmed off a couple seconds from her time from just two weeks ago, clocking in at 1:05.70.

Genevieve Arnold, Taylor Anthony, Rosie Murray, and Mia Scott worked together in the 4x100 relay, clocking a time of 49.23 for second. Not long after in the 400m, Ellie Kitsmiller tabbed fifth in 1:01.05 and Kaleigh McNamara tabbed eighth in 1:03.11. Additionally in the 200m, Arnold (27.56, 7th) and Ella Zambruno (28.04, 9th) finished top 10.

Four Blue Streaks secured top 10 times in the 1500m. Abby Schroff heralded the pack with a runner-up time of 4:47.70. Kitsmiller (4:52.95, 5th), Amanda Keim (4:56.25, 8th) and Katy Fellenstein (4:57.30, 10th) all did nice work, too.

On the distance side, Sydney Wingler ran the 3000m Steeplechase for the first time in her career, with nice success. The freshman clocked in at 11:59.50 for first. Later on in the 5000m, Sarah Weldon rocketed to second with a time of 18:44.90. Anastasia Bakuhn (19:26.30, 5th) and Sydney Jenko (19:28.45, 6th) also finished for JCU.

To wrap things up, Anthony, Murray, Scott, and McNamara combined for a winning time of 4:08.88 in the 4x400 relay.
