UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- John Carroll University does not just produce All-Americans on the field, but also produces All-American broadcasters.

Logan Potosky '23 has been chosen as an STAA (Sportscasters Talent Agency of America) All-America Honorable Mention.

On Friday, the STAA unveiled its annual All-American list. Potosky is amongst the 36 student broadcasters from across the United States, and just one of two from NCAA Division III.

During his time at John Carroll, Logan Potosky became a staple on JCUSports.com and WJCU 88.7 FM. Potosky broadcasted a wide range of sports, from football to basketball to lacrosse and many more during his time with JCU Sports Information. (Here is Potosky's award reel)

Potosky's voice and dynamic range set him apart as a broadcaster. His extensive prep work and his dedication to his craft are why his work is being recognized. All the while, Potosky's professionalism, teamwork, and kindness make him the definition of a Wenzler Warrior. His work has gone far beyond the broadcast booth and into game notes, recaps, and so much more.

Potosky has been the voice behind legendary moments in JCU history of the past few years, including the first OAC Championship in Women's Lacrosse history, the Comeback in Berea in 2022, Nicole Heffington and Olivia Nagy becoming the leading scorer and rebounder in Women's Basketball history, the Men's Basketball win over #3 Mount Union this past season, and so much more.

For his broadcast work on WJCU, Potosky won a national championship, too. Potosky (alongside color analyst and fellow JCU SID employee Bobby Gerome '25) won the 2023 IBS Radio "Best Sports Play-by-Play (Football)" Award. (Here is Potosky's demo reel)

Potosky is the third Blue Streak all-time to be recognized by the STAA. In 2012, Brendan Gulick '13 earned the #13 overall ranking in the United States, with Dale Armbruster '14, '17G garnering Honorable Mention status. As a senior in 2013, Gulick tallied a #10 ranking. The STAA transitioned from rankings to All-America teams in 2022.

"I am honored to be named a 2023 STAA Honorable Mention All-American." Potosky said. "It's also an honor to join fellow JCU alums Brendan Gulick and Dale Armbruster on this list.

"I can't thank the JCU Sports Information Department, WJCU, and John Carroll University enough for all they have done for me over the past four years. The relationships, experiences, and memories I have gained will last a lifetime. I am forever grateful to be a Blue Streak. Onward on!"

After graduating this past Sunday, Potosky is continuing his gig as the Play-by-Play voice for the Lake County Captains, the High-A affiliate of the Cleveland Guardians.
