Men's Swimming & Diving Rolls for a Great Start at OAC Championships

The 200 Free Relay squad tallied an NCAA B cut in addition to earning a win.
AKRON, Ohio – The Blue Streak train has started rolling.

John Carroll Men's Swimming & Diving notched nice wins and one NCAA B cut to open up the action at the 2024 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships.

JCU stands in front with 290.5 points. The Blue Streaks have a comfortable advantage over second place Ohio Northern University, who ended with 187 points on Thursday night.

The 200 Free Relay opened the evening on a heck of a note. Daniel Argalious, Bryce Liddell, Patrick Branch, and Forrest Campbell combined for an incredible swim. The quartet combined to win the event by over a second, and not only that, but the Streaks tallied an NCAA B cut with a mark of 1:21.42. 

Aidan O'Neill got to the podium and smiled wide with a second-place All-OAC finish of 4:41.00. A podium stand was also in order for Aidan Hulseman with a fourth-place time of 4:49.67.

Joe Nadur tallied major points for JCU in the 200 Individual Medley. He repeated his prelim time, clocking in at 1:52.12 to retain his conference crown. Branch snagged All-OAC honors with a mark of 1:52.95. 

The Blue Streaks notched two All-OAC finishers in the 50 Free in a great showing. The cool and collected Argalious beat the competition with a mark of 20.61. Liddell finished a hair behind at 20.70 and Don Falcon scored a tie for sixth. 

The night ended with a conquest for the Blue & Gold. Luke Novak, Bart Kubis, Campbell, and Argalious dominated the 400 Medley Relay by a wide margin with a top time of 3:20.26. 

On Wednesday evening, the 800 Free Relay tallied a victory as well. Nadur, O'Neill, Liddell, and Branch combined for a time of 6:46.13 for the Wednesday win.

The action continues with prelims on Friday morning at 10 am followed by finals at 6 pm.
