Women’s Track & Field Continues Their Personal Record Success At Greater Cleveland Colleges Invite Hosted By Case Western Before OACs

In a Friday track & field contest, the Blue Streaks made the short trip over to Case Western Reserve University for the Ed Finnigan Greater Cleveland Colleges Invite. 

Final Results

At the beginning of the meet, the field events got underway as Genevieve Arnold (5.42 meters) would win the long jump, followed by Olivia Stefka who would place second with a mark of 4.91 meters. In the triple jump, Tori Miller would win the event and post a personal record mark of 11.14 meters. 

Moving on to the running events, Alyssa Vis would continue her success on the track as she would post another personal record in the mile with a time of 5:21.30. Emma Hvizods would also run a personal record of 5:32.96 in the race finishing third overall. The duo of Ellie Kitsmiller and Claire Eberhardt would win their respective events at the event as well. Kitsmiller competed in the 400 meter dash in heat 1 and would run 1:00.26, while Eberhardt would run 1:19.95 in the 500 to win her heat. Sophomore Ella Zambruno came back from the 60 meter prelim to run a personal record of 8.32 seconds securing a personal best and winning the event. In the 1000 meter run, three personal records would happen as the trio of Morgan Edwards (3:06.92), Sarah Weldon (3:08.24), and Kelsey Sheridan (3:10.64) would place in the top five. To conclude the running events, freshman Ella Julien would run her second race of the indoor season and run 11:15.17 in the 3000 meter run to win the event. 

The Blue Streaks will be back in action as championship racing is upon us, where they will be competing at the OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Muskingum University next weekend.
