Women’s Track & Field Places Second Overall At Wooster Invitational

The Women's 4x100 Meter Relay Of Murray, Houston, Munchick, And King Won The Event With A Time Of 47.24 Seconds
WOOSTER, OH – It is finally outdoor season for the Blue Streaks. 

The team traveled to the College of Wooster this past Saturday, April 4th for the Wooster Invitational, competing against mostly conference and OAC teams.

The women secured a second place finish scoring a total of 111 points. Taking home the meet title was the University of Mount Union with 116.5 points. Placing third overall to round up the top three was Case Western Reserve University with 108 points.

In the field events, Lily Shahan got things started in the javelin throw, placing seventh overall with a mark of 34.40 meters. 

Breanna Berwald earned a top 10 finish in the women's discus with a mark of 39.30 meters. 

Sophomore Dakota Houston continues her impressive finishes in the long jump, winning the event with a mark of 5.62 meters, followed by her teammate Aniela Balog placing third with a mark of 5.23 meters. 

Tori Miller also won the triple jump with a mark of 10.66 meters. 

The track events would get off to an impressive start as the women's 4x100 meter relay of Rosie Murray, Dakota Houston, Paige Munchick, and Sandra King placed first overall with a time of 47.72 seconds. Their time puts them at 16th in Division III and third in the conference. 
Senior Alyssa Vis continued her progression as she placed second overall in the women's 1500 meter run with a time of 4:40.34. Her time ranks her second in the NCAC and 37th in Division III.

Another senior who had a solid day for the Blue Streaks was senior Paige Munchick. Her times of 59.63 and 25.90 seconds currently sit in the top 10 in the NCAC. 

It was a good start for the women as they have officially kicked off the 2026 outdoor season.

It will be the first split squad weekend for the men's track & field team as they will travel to Lewisberg, Pennsylvania for the Bison Outdoor Classic at Bucknell University and Alliance, Ohio for the John Homon Invite at the University of Mount Union next Friday-Saturday, April 10th-11th.
