Jalen Myrick '19 Set to Represent John Carroll in Super Bowl LVIII

John Carroll will be represented in the Super Bowl for the 28th time.

LAS VEGAS – For the eighth straight season, John Carroll University will be represented in the Super Bowl.

Jalen Myrick '19 will make another Super Bowl appearance, repping the Blue Streaks in Super Bowl LVIII.

Myrick has thrived as part of the developing dynasty in Kansas City, serving as a College/Pro Scout for the Chiefs.

With his fourth Super Bowl appearance, Myrick joins elite John Carroll company. The Hilliard, Ohio native and Hilliard Bradley grad is one of seven Blue Streaks to make four or more trips to the big game, joining Josh McDaniels (9), Nick Caserio (9), Don Shula (6), Jerry Schuplinski (4), and Dave Ziegler (4).

Without a doubt, the former John Carroll linebacker has helped to make the trip to Vegas possible. Over the offseason, Myrick helped to identify Charles Omenihu and Jawaan Taylor as possible fits for the Chiefs in free agency. Omenihu has tallied 28 tackles, 7 sacks, 5 tackles for loss, and 11 quarterback hits at defensive end. Taylor has been big at the right tackle spot for KC, with 1,076 snaps this season.

Myrick is enjoying his time with the Chiefs and a stellar start to his professional career after building a strong foundation at John Carroll.

"When people ask me why the JCU-NFL pipeline is so deep, I say it's because of the community," says Myrick. "The environment is supportive and positive. Out of all the classes l took, the biggest skill I credit my time there to is learning how to care about people. Not only caring but conveying that passion to your team.

"Teamwork is a monumental part of any business. When peers know you have their best interests in mind, possibilities are endless. Employers gravitate towards people from our university. There's a commonality that we all share that is respected in the workplace."
