Abby Schroff Wins The Mile At Mount Union's Last Chance Meet, Breaking The School Record In The Process
ALLIANCE, Ohio - A small contingent of Blue Streaks headed down to Alliance, Ohio for the Mount Union Last Chance Meet this afternoon at the Peterson Field House.

Final Results

Coming off a third place finish at the 2024 OAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, the women wanted to take advantage of the opportunity to compete for any qualifying marks to the NCAA Indoor Championships.

The day got started with the 800 meter run as the dynamic duo of Claire Eberhardt and Ellie Kitsmiller would compete for the Blue Streaks. Eberhardt would finish 4th overall with a time of 2:15.61, followed by Kitsmiller who would place 7th overall, clocking in at 2:22.96.

Next up would be the women's one mile run as sophomore Abby Schroff would continue her success on the track. Coming off first and second place finishes at the OAC Championships this past weekend, Schroff wins the mile with a time of 5:01.54, breaking the previous school record of 5:02.92 held by her current teammate Erica Esper. Abby Schroff now owns three school records including the 1500 meter outdoor, the Distance Medley Relay from this year, and now the mile.

The women now await for final selections for the 2024 NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships, which will be announced tomorrow evening. The meet will take place next weekend Friday March 8 through Saturday March 9, hosted by Norfolk State at the Virginia Beach Sports Center in Virginia Beach, VA.
