Women's Golf Snags Second at Terrier Invitational

Amanda Pancake and the Blue Streaks did well amidst wet course conditions.

CHAGRIN FALLS – While the sun was shining on Sunday, Tanglewood Country Club played wet after a damp week in Northeast Ohio.

While every golfer might have wanted a couple of holes back, John Carroll Women's Golf performed admirably in Chagrin Falls on an unfamiliar course.

The Blue Streaks notched a second-place effort at the Terrier Invitational, compiling a team score of 360.

RESULTS

Amanda Pancake was the star of the show for the Blue Streaks. The Columbus native played exceptionally well for not being familiar with the course. The junior carded an 80 for the day, good enough for a tie for second place with her +10. As Head Coach Missy Gedeon noted, Pancake was "able to hit many of the greens and had good control of her shots."

Anna Schramko continued her strong spring. The senior helped to steer the squad with a tally of 91, which placed her in the top 10 on Sunday. The Magnificat grad is showcasing nice improvement this season as she looks to guide JCU as a veteran.

Isabella Mineo stood as JCU's next finisher with a score of 94. The Kent native tabbed a 12th place finish.

Tying for JCU's final score were Jennifer Crowley and Colleen Vredenburg. The standout juniors each compiled a tally of 95, tying for 13th place in the field. Amanda Millis played as an individual, finishing with a 111 for the afternoon.

All in all, the Blue Streaks are certainly off to a nice start this spring.

Next weekend, Gedeon's Blue Streaks will play host to the two-day John Carroll Invitational. Saturday's round will take place at Fox Den Golf Course in Stow, and Sunday's round will take place at Hudson Country Club.
