Day 1 - Final Results

The Polar Bears of Ohio Northern lead the OAC Championships with 106 points, followed by the Mount Union Purple Raiders scoring 47 points.

Talk about a tone setter as senior Genevieve Arnold would win the women's long jump with a mark of 6.00 meters. In her last jump, she would impress and make the biggest jump of her career, putting herself at second in the country currently. She would also post a new school record in the event.

In the women's discus throw, sophomore Bre Berwald would contribute for the Blue Streaks as she would place seventh overall with a mark of 36.22 meters.

Leah Fritsch would earn her first All-OAC honor in the women's javelin throw as she would place third overall with a mark of 33.17 meters.

Transitioning now to the running events, Genevieve Arnold would continue her winning ways as she would win the women's 100 meter hurdle prelims with a time of 15.03 seconds, just minutes after competing in the long jump. She would also run in the 100 meter dash prelims, where she would place second, running 12.01 seconds. Junior Mia Scott would also make the final in the event, clocking in at 12.43 seconds placing sixth.

In the first distance event of the meet, Grace McKoon (12:11.89) and Sydney Wingler (12:34.00) would score for the Blue Streaks in the steeplechase placing fifth and eighth overall in the event.

The 400 meter hurdles showed out as both Rosie Murray (1:05.01) and Elizabeth Clemente (1:07.50) would advance to tomorrow's final placing fourth and sixth respectively. Clemente would earn herself a personal best.

In the women's 4x800 meter relay, the team consisting of Morgan Edwards, Annie Higgins, Ellie Kitsmiller, and Claire Eberhardt would propel JCU to a second place finish with a time of 9:08.34 to earn themselves All-OAC honors. This would also be a new school record for the relay.

In the final event of day 1, in the women's 10,000 meter run, junior Sarah Weldon would add to the Blue Streaks total as she would place fifth overall with a time of 39:05.24.

The women will return for day 2 tomorrow. Field events will get the day started at 11:00 AM, followed by the running events taking place at 2:30 PM. The Blue Streaks will look to continue to gather that momentum and contribute to the scoring after coming off a great first day of the championship meet.
