Blue Streaks Earn Third Place Finish At The 2024 OAC Outdoor Championships Scoring 138 Points

TIFFIN, Ohio - The women were coming off of a strong day one effort highlighted by Genevieve Arnold's long jump performance, the 4x800 meter relay breaking the school record placing second overall, and scoring finishes throughout the meet. 

The Blue Streaks maintained and finished in the top three of the OAC Outdoor Championship meet, placing third overall as a team scoring 138 points. 

The Polar Bears of Ohio Northern took home the team title scoring 228 points, followed by the Purple Raiders of Mount Union scoring 168 points. 

Final Results

Day two started off spectacularly as Tori Miller and Genevieve Arnold would place first and second place overall in the triple jump. Miller would win the event title with a mark of 11.36 meters, which is a new personal best for the senior. Arnold would place second with a mark of 11.27 meters. Both would come away with All-OAC finishes. 

Transitioning to the running events, in the women's 4x100 meter relay, the team consisting of Genevieve Arnold, Mia Scott, Ella Zambruno, and Rosie Murray would finish second with a time of 47.84 seconds to continue that momentum for the Blue Streaks. 

In the first distance event of the second day, senior Claire Eberhardt would continue to impress as she would earn All-OAC honors in the event with a time of 4:44.21, followed by sophomore Alyssa Vis placing fourth, earning a new personal best of 4:45.76. 

In the 100 meter dash, Genevieve Arnold would return from her field event success and place second overall with a time of 12.21 seconds to earn the runner-up All-OAC performance. Junior Mia Scott would contribute as she would place fifth overall with a time of 12.49 seconds. 

The women's 800 meter run was an impressive finish as three Blue Streaks would score. Junior Ellie Kitsmiller would earn All-OAC honors with a time of 2:14.40. Claire Eberhardt and Annie Higgins would place fourth and sixth respectively earning a couple of personal bests and scoring for JCU. 

In the women's 400 meter hurdles, Rosie Murray would place fourth overall with a time of 1:05.34, followed by senior Elizabeth Clemente earning a new personal best of 1:06.29. They both would score for the Blue Streaks. 

Junior Morgan Edwards would lead for JCU in the women's 5000 meter run as she would place sixth overall with a time of 18:06.70. 

To conclude day two, the women ended off on a high note with the 4x400 meter relay placing second overall with a time of 4:04.34 to earn All-OAC honors. This relay consisted of Rosie Murray, Ellie Kitsmiller, Kaleigh McNamara, and Tori Miller

The women walk away with another top three finish in the OAC as they prepare for more opportunities along the way that could lead them to the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. There is a lot to be proud of moving forward with this team. 

The Blue Streaks will be back competing next week at the Harrison Dillard Twilight hosted by Baldwin Wallace for one of the last chance meets on their schedule on Friday, May 10th as they prepare for more championship racing coming soon.
