LOUISVILLE, KY – Coming off of a second place finish at the NCAC Championships two weeks ago, the women's cross country team is poised for what's next.

The Blue Streaks will return to EP "Tom" Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Kentucky for the 2025 NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Cross Country Championships on Saturday, November 15th. The women's championship 6k will take place at 11:00 AM (ET).

Back in October, the women competed at the Louisville Cross Country Classic and placed fifth overall with a total score of 282 points. Knowing the course will be a huge boost for the team as they head into the weekend.

Leading up to this year's Great Lakes Regional Championships, the women have earned five consecutive top five finishes at the meet since 2019, but the team has higher expectations as they will look to get back to the National Championships for the first time since 2022.

The women enter the meet ranked sixth in the Great Lakes. Three schools from the MIAA headline the top three including Trine University, Hope College, and Calvin University. Next is Case Western Reserve ranked fourth, while Ohio Wesleyan comes in fifth, who won the NCAC Championship.

Throughout the 2025 season, the Blue Streaks have showcased their depth, earning top five finishes in every race they've competed in. Several athletes have stepped up in big situations throughout the year when others went down, which has been a key in their finishes.

Athletes to look out for this weekend include Abby Schroff and Anne Rea, who have been the number one and two runners for the team this year. Schroff will be making her fourth consecutive regional appearance all while earning two All-Region accolades. Rea was very close last year to earning an All-Region honor, finishing 36th overall behind her former teammate Ellie Kitsmiller

Samantha Goodnough has been an integral part of the women's success on the course as she will look to be up in contention for a top finish.

A runner who has come into her own this year is senior Morgan Dobos. Dobos will be running in her first regional championship of her career. She was named All-Conference with an 11th place finish at the NCAC Championships and has been a top finisher for the Blue Streaks for most of the year.

Senior Alyssa Vis will return for her second regional meet of her career and has been a top finisher for the Blue Streaks as well.

Another senior who will be toeing the line this Saturday is Cassie Klein. From being a leader on and off the course to placing in the top seven for the team, Klein will look to improve upon last year's performance and guide her teammates towards a high finish.

Last, but not least junior Kelsey Sheridan is coming off of a 16th place finish overall at the NCAC Championships in her second cross country race this year and has high hopes to improve and play a major role in the team's performance.

The experience of competing at this course is one thing, but having someone to run side-by-side with you every step of the way has helped this group to reach new heights.

That has been key for this women's cross country team all year long as they will now have another opportunity to showcase who they are in Louisville in hopes of punching their tickets to the NCAA National Championships next Saturday, November 22nd in Spartanburg, South Carolina.
