The JCU trio guided the Blue Streaks to a great season in the first season in the NCAC

CLEVELAND – Following a fantastic first season as members of the North Coast Athletic Conference, John Carroll Volleyball has been well-honored.

A trio of Blue Streaks made the grade on the All-NCAC Team following the conclusion of the NCAC Tournament. John Carroll finished as the tournament runners-up with a 21-8 record overall, 6-1 in NCAC play.

Natalie Glowe and Olivia Mogyordy garnered First Team recognition, while Mary Kate Sheehan tabbed Second Team status.

Over the course of the campaign, Natalie Glowe established herself as one of the preeminent outside hitters in the entire conference. Without a doubt, her junior year was one to behold for John Carroll fans.

The Kirtland native topped the team with 341 kills and 3.13 kills per set, but that's not all. Glowe led the NCAC in both categories, with a whopping 47 more kills than the next finisher. As for hitting percentage, Glowe accrued a .218 mark, good for 11th in the conference. A complete player, Glowe finished fifth in service aces per set (0.45) and ninth in digs per set (3.05). The straw that stirred the drink for JCU this season, Glowe finished out the season by making the NCAC All-Tournament Team.

This year was also a banner season for Olivia Mogyordy. The sophomore stood out as the champion of John Carroll's backline effort.

The Westlake native accumulated a whopping 597 digs this season, an impressive 70 more than any other player in the conference. Mogyordy also led the league in digs per set with 5.33. The star libero finishes second all-time in program history for digs and sixth in digs per set. Quite the season for the young Blue Streak, which was finished off with NCAC All-Tournament honors this past weekend.

Another member of the strong junior class gained recognition, as Mary Kate Sheehan secured all-conference honors. The Chicago, Illinois native finished second on the team in kills with 243 despite missing some time due to injury.

Sheehan ranks highly in the NCAC in both kills per set (2.45, 10th) and hitting percentage (.245, 7th). The star right side made a bigtime impact this season with her powerful arm. This was Sheehan's best season yet, and more is to come in her senior season.
