UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – The 2025-26 campaign opened with a strong showing at the John Carroll Round Robin on Sunday.

John Carroll Women's Wrestling kickstarted the season by enjoying some success at the Tony DeCarlo Varsity Center, with plenty of placements.

The Blue Streaks notched many highlights during the opening action, though no team scores were kept. The other teams competing were Baldwin Wallace, Bethany, Edinboro, Heidelberg, Indiana club, Ithaca, Purdue Club, Washington and Jefferson, and Waynesburg.

Results

JCU enjoyed a strong bracket at 138. First year Nora Mooney impressed en route to the title bout before succumbing to a talented grappler from the Indiana Club team. Fellow rookie Adah Darst snatched fourth place, spotlighted by a pair of first-minute pins.

In the 145 Blue bracket, Delilah Gallegos grabbed first place, winning all four of her matches. Leslie Sullivan followed in second place, losing her only match to her teammate.

Riley Duffey rebounded from an early loss to garner third place at 124. The star sophomore did the trick thanks to a pair of impressive fall wins plus an 11-6 decision over teammate Roma LoGiurato. A pin in 2:45 in the third-place bout cemented her spot. LoGiurato still did well for herself with a fifth-place effort, concluded with a pin in 50 seconds of teammate Emily Leeseberg.

JCU slated two placers in the 160 Gold bracket. Bella Cyrkiel snagged second and Jordan Palmer tabbed fifth.

Olivia Beaulieu made a successful debut at 180, nabbing fourth place. Kaiden Boshers snagged eighth at 131, highlighted by an early 11-0 tech fall.

Finally, Taylor MacAdam took care of business at 103, besting Bethany's wrestler twice to take first place in the division.
