Montgomery has set the JCU records for catches and receiving yards in a season

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – Add a bigtime accolade to the long-flowing resume of John Carroll's star wide receiver.

On Thursday, the Associated Press released its Division III All-America Football Teams.

Tyren Montgomery garnered Second Team honors.

The graduate student has been on fire all season. The star wideout has set new standards in the JCU record books this season, namely for receptions (109) and receiving yards (1,392). And that's not even mentioning his 14 receiving touchdowns. Yes, Montgomery holds that record, as well, hauling in 17 TD strikes last year.

Montgomery has been the textbook definition of consistent this season. Montgomery has tallied 5 or more catches in all 13 games. In his last five outings, Montgomery has notched eight or more receptions in each game.

Just looking at the three playoff games, Montgomery has secured 28 receptions for 304 yards.

Just last week, Montgomery garnered All-America status from the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). Still to come is the D3football.com All-America list. The Texan snagged First Team All-Region honors following a First Team All-North Coast Athletic Conference nod.
