Dakota Houston Earns First OAC Athlete Of The Week Honor After Performances At Wisconsin La Crosse
WESTERVILLE – The Ohio Athletic Conference awarded their athlete of the week to a first year from nearby Beachwood High School.

Dakota Houston earns the honor for the first time in her career after another impressive week at the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invite hosted by the University of Wisconsin La Crosse.

The first year placed sixth overall in the 60 meter dash with a new personal best of 7.79 seconds. Houston also participated in the 200 meter dash, where she posted a time of 25.68, placing her 5th overall in the event.

Houston's lightning fast times placed her first in the OAC in the 60 meter and second in the 200 meter. Those times also put her inside of the top 40 nationally in both events. She currently is ranked 39th in the country in the 60m dash and 37th in the 200m.

Houston's career is just starting to blossom as she is having a spectacular start to the indoor season in the Blue and Gold. The Beachwood product and the rest of the JCU Women's Track and Field unit return to action this weekend against rival Baldwin Wallace on Friday, February 14th.
