Henry Raynor and Sean Collins Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Raynor and Collins got the job done in the classroom and on the court for JCU this year

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- The College Sports Communicators released the Academic All-District honorees for men's basketball, featuring two Blue Streaks. 

This recognition truly defines what it means to be a "student-athlete" and for these two gentlemen, it creates incredible representation for the program. 

Senior big man Henry Raynor and forward Sean Collins were the two members of the team to receive this honor. 

For Raynor, this is his second straight year earning Academic All-District honors, maintaining his outstanding work in the Boler College of Business. 

On the court, Raynor transitioned into an important role for the Blue Streaks, helping them win their second straight Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament Championship. Raynor crushed all his prior seasonal stats in major offensive categories averaging a career high 12.8 points per game and 8.1 rebounds per game. Not only did Raynor get it done offensively, but his defensive efforts earned him OAC defensive player of the year, ending with 56 blocks and surpassing 100 career blocks. Being so dominant on both sides of the ball earned Raynor OAC Tournament MVP, leading the Blue Streaks to their 15th OAC championship win. 

On the other hand, Sean Collins finds himself continuing his run of excellence in the classroom since stepping foot on University Heights. Collins looks to exceed his academic success as a Data Science major, preparing himself for his upcoming senior year at John Carroll. 

Collins came off the bench in 28 games this season, shooting a steady 55% from the field while asserting himself as a momentum changer for the Blue Streaks off the bench. Opportunity may arise for Collins as three senior big men are leaving the program upon graduation.
