Justy VonLehmden steered the team with a top-10 finish

WOOSTER – Over the last two days, five members of John Carroll Men's Golf began familiarizing themselves with a future North Coast Athletic Conference foe.

The Blue Streaks' "B" team made the trip down to the College of Wooster for the Nye Intercollegiate at Wooster Country Club.

John Carroll finished in seventh place with a final team tally of 320-319-639.

Final Results

Justy VonLehmden led the charge for the Blue Streaks. The Saint John's Jesuit grad stood far and above the lineup for JCU, capturing a ninth-place finish. The sophomore started out with a 77 and cut his score by one stroke on Monday for a final mark of 153. A pair of birdies on the No. 1 hole – a very-difficult 495-yard, Par 5 – steadied his effort both days.

Paul Litrenta corralled a 78 on Sunday before dropping to an 83 on Monday for a final effort of 161. Three birdies in four holes from No. 1-4 highlighted his Sunday round. Two strokes back, Parker Bennett recorded an 80-83-163. His best hole was No. 2, as he tabbed a birdie on both days on the 377-yard Par 4.

Anthony Krakowiak provided a veteran presence, starting out at 86 on Sunday before rebounding with a 79 on Monday for a final mark of 165. A Monday eagle on No. 11, the longest Par 5 hole of the course at 555 yards, was his crowning achievement. Jack Gerborg rounded things out at 85-81-166.
