Men's Lacrosse Fires Past Wilmington to Continue Win Streak

JCU never trailed against the Quakers

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – The march through Ohio Athletic Conference play continued for John Carroll Men's Lacrosse on Saturday afternoon at Don Shula Stadium.

JCU notched its fifth straight win, storming past Wilmington, 29-4.

The Blue Streaks started strong and never looked back, easing off the gas pedal late in the lopsided conquest.

The hosts burst out to a big lead in the first quarter, standing ahead, 11-1, after 15 minutes of play. Eight different players netted goals in the opening stanza, including Brody Forrest scoring with 7 seconds left.

John Carroll kept up the offensive momentum in the second quarter, scoring frequently in transition. Sean Keane did much of the damage. Brody Biggs got in on the fun, netting his first collegiate goal. Casey LaForce's last-second goal finished off the scoring with JCU in front, 24-1.

Biggs and Brock Schwartz guided the offense in the third, which slowed to prevent the score from ballooning. After getting ahead by 28 goals, JCU stopped scoring.

Casey LaForce led all players with 11 points (6 goals, 5 assists). Sean Keane nabbed 8 goals and 1 assist. Brody Biggs and William Dunn each registered 4 points. Nicholas Yemma did a nice job on faceoffs, winning of 25-of-31 and grabbing 18 groundballs. Jason Xiao and Nicholas Gonzalez both tabbed 2 caused turnovers.

Josh Wade got the win in cage. Reed Bateman, Hudson Bardeggia, Devin Holder, and Michael Barton all got time in net, as well.

Next Up
John Carroll will hit the road for a critical OAC showdown. The Blue Streaks will do battle with Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday at 7 pm.
