CLEVELAND – John Carroll University Athletics continues to rank among the best schools in NCAA Division III.

For a fourth straight season, the Blue Streaks will finish among the top 40 of the Learfield Directors' Cup Division III standings.

Following a successful spring campaign, the Blue Streaks conclude the 2024-25 academic year in 39th place. That ranks in the top 9% of the 425 schools in NCAA Division III.

John Carroll stacks up well with its peers in the standings. The Blue Streaks topped all members of the Ohio Athletic Conference. The results also spell good tidings for JCU's move to the North Coast Athletic Conference in the fall. JCU ranks second among NCAC schools, behind Denison (20th).

The Blue & Gold tallied 37th in 2024, 28th in 2023, and 23rd in 2022. Prior to the pandemic, JCU tabbed 31st in 2018-19. This is the 11th time John Carroll has finished in the top 50. The Blue Streaks also finished T-40th in 1997-98, 36th in 2000-01, 33rd in 2001-02, 41st in 2003-04 and 48th in 2017-18.

After accumulating 125 points in the fall and 129 points in the winter, John Carroll saved the best for last with 195 points in the spring. JCU finished with a final total of 449 points.

Men's Golf topped the spring sports with a lead effort of 60 points. In the first season under Head Coach Jeff Pawlowski '91, the Blue Streaks returned to the NCAA Championship for the first time since 2022 by conquering the OAC, guided by Michael Keefe earning medalist honors. With a 15th place finish, JCU notched its best effort at the national level since 1997.

Women's Lacrosse totaled 50 points courtesy of a nice appearance in the NCAA Tournament. JCU returned to the big dance for the first time since 2021, doing so as an at-large team. Head Coach Kelsey Shewbridge steered the Blue Streaks to their best start in program history and an OAC Regular Season Co-Championship. Once in the NCAA postseason, JCU impressed in a dominant first-round win over Grove City College before succumbing to host #14 St. John Fisher.

Women's Track & Field compiled 43.5 points for the JCU effort. First year Dakota Houston did much of the heavy lifting with a pair of All-American efforts. The 4x100 relay team of Mia Scott, Sandra King, Paige Munchick, and Houston added another All-American trophy for Daniel Tutskey's wall.

Men's Track & Field provided 41.5 points to the JCU ledger. Basheer Alramahi snagged bronze in the 400m for All-American status. The star sprinter then combined with Tyler Gast, Tony Tirado, and Dustin Horner to bring home another All-American trophy in the 4x400 relay.
