UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – A quartet of smart Streaks have earned academic honors.

Four John Carroll student-athletes have made the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® Men's At-Large Team.

Austin Malley and Kamden Mowry represent JCU Men's Golf, while Hayden Mumbach and Nicholas Yemma rep JCU Men's Lacrosse.

The CSC's At-Large Team recognizes student-athletes who compete in sports that do not have standalone Academic All-America® contests.

Austin Malley played a key role for the Blue Streaks this season. The sophomore stood out on the course all season, averaging a score of 74.5 this season. The Venetia, Pennsylvania native tabbed fifth-place finishes at three events in the fall, and springboarded to second with an even score at the two-day Caschera/DiCillo Classic. Malley carded a +16 for 22nd at the OAC Championships and improved to +13 for 46th at the NCAA Division III Championships. Malley, pursuing his degree in Middle Childhood Education, earned Academic All-OAC honors for the first time this spring.

Kamden Mowry excelled this season, but especially when it mattered most. The sophomore roared at the OAC Championships, earning eighth place with a +8, good enough for All-OAC honors. Previously, the Ashland native snagged third at the Caschera/DiCillo Classic. In the fall, Mowry's best effort occurred at the Jeff Roope Invitational with a +2. For the year, Mowry averaged a score of 75.0. The Biology major attained Academic All-OAC honors for the first time this spring.

Hayden Mumbach concluded an outstanding career for the men's lacrosse team this spring. The Hamburg, New York native secured Honorable Mention All-OAC status. The senior started all 17 games, notched 31 groundballs and 12 caused turnovers. The Financial Planning and Wealth Management grad garnered Academic All-OAC honors not only this year, but as a junior in 2024 and a sophomore in 2023.

Nicholas Yemma provided strong play in his junior year with JCU Men's Lacrosse. The Buffalo native nabbed Honorable Mention All-OAC recognition. The Clarence High School grad served as the team's primary faceoff man, topping the team with 108 groundballs. The Financial Planning and Wealth Management major secured Academic All-OAC honors this spring for the second straight season.
