Tyren Montgomery & Nick Semptimphelter Named D3football.com Preseason All-Americans

Montgomery and Semptimphelter are the lone QB-WR preseason All-America duo

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — With the 2025 college football season looming in the next two weeks, D3football.com has released their preseason All-Americans list, which feature two Blue Streaks.

After historic seasons as a duo, graduate students Tyren Montgomery and Nick Semptimphelter claim made the list as a part of the first and third team offenses, respectively.

Montgomery, a transfer from Nicholls State, played out of his mind in 12 games at wideout, breaking the single season record for touchdowns receptions in school history with 15. Montgomery went on a six consecutive game stretch toward the end of last season where he recorded a score.

On the year, the wide receiver hauled in 57 receptions for 1,071 yards, earning him First Team All-OAC honors. The veteran was also the recipient of the Ed Sherman award for the best Wide Receiver in the Ohio Athletic Conference a year ago.

The star weapon is once again united with his QB1, who had a career year in his own right. After transferring from Bucknell, Nick Semptimphelter took the reins of the offense and took the unit to new heights. The graduate student completed 76.1% of his passes for 2,912 yards and 38 touchdowns. These numbers led the OAC, as well as earning him First Team All-OAC honors.

In a pivotal matchup in the final game of the regular season against Marietta, the signal caller threw for 288 yards and 6 touchdowns, a JCU record. The Franklin, Tennessee native also became the first QB in Blue Streak history to have a perfect 100% completion rate in a 49-13 victory over Ohio Northern. Semptimphelter also was a master at taking care of the football, only throwing three interceptions across his 12 starts.

Montgomery and Semptimphelter are huge assets coming back for Head Coach Jeff Behrman '95, as new challenges present themselves. The Blue Streaks will look to conquer the North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) in their first season in the league.

The Blue Streaks hit the road to open their season in Pennsylvania as they travel to face the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets, who went 4-6 a year ago.
