John Carroll Football Checks in at #25 in AFCA Preseason Poll

The Blue Streaks start the campaign in the top 25 for a second straight season

WACO, TEX. – For a second straight season, John Carroll Football is garnering preseason attention from the American Football Coaches Association.

On Monday morning, the preseason 2025 AFCA Division III Coaches Poll, presented by Hudl, was released. 

John Carroll checks in at #25 in the preseason poll.

The Blue Streaks received 128 points after finishing the 2024 campaign outside of the top 25. JCU finished 9-3 a season ago, making the NCAA Division III playoffs for the first time since 2018.

North Central checks in as the favorite to win it all again this season, healthily in the top spot. 

Two of JCU's opponents appear in the top 25. Johns Hopkins starts the year at #3 coming off of a 12-2 campaign a year ago. The Blue Jays made the NCAA Semifinals a year ago. The Blue Streaks and Blue Jays will meet in Week 2 on September 13 in Baltimore.

DePauw kicks off the year at #16. The Tigers won the North Coast Athletic Conference title a year ago before losing to Johns Hopkins in the second round of the NCAA Playoffs. DePauw was picked to win the NCAC in the preseason coaches poll.

John Carroll begins the campaign on September 6 at Waynesburg. JCU's home opener is set for September 20 vs. Oberlin at Don Shula Stadium.
