Austin Malley Recognized as NCAC Men's Golfer of the Week

Malley secures the weekly honor for the first time in his career

CLEVELAND – A strong start to the season has yielded bigtime honors for John Carroll Men's Golf.

For the second time this year, the Blue Streaks have garnered an athlete of the week from the North Coast Athletic Conference.

Austin Malley is the NCAC Men's Golfer of the Week to represent the Blue and Gold. This is his first career weekly conference honor. 

The junior excelled in his second outing of the year. Malley guided the Blue Streaks to first place at the Mount Union Fall Invitational this weekend, beating out the host Purple Raiders. 

The Venetia, Pennsylvania native kickstarted the weekend with a fantastic one-under-par round on Saturday with a 71. Then on Sunday, Malley carded a 72, good for even par.

For the tournament, Malley's score of 143 (-1) ranked third in the field.

Malley and the Blue Streaks are back in action this weekend. JCU Men's and Women's Golf will host the Donald Ross Invitational on Saturday at Manakiki Golf Course and on Sunday at Shaker Country Club.
