Blue Streaks Move To 3-1 On The Year And 2-0 In NCAC Play To Earn Their Second Straight Shut Out Victory
Box Score GAMBIER, Ohio – The Blue Streaks were back on the road and took full advantage of the opportunity in all facets of the game.

On a beautiful Saturday afternoon, JCU Football stood victorious against Kenyon College to earn their second straight shutout victory in the North Coast Athletic Conference by a score of 52-0.

JCU advances to 3-1 on the season with the victory, the Blue Streaks' first NCAC road conquest.

The first John Carroll possession resulted in a fumble, but the Blue Streaks rebounded on the next drive. JCU matriculated down the field on a lengthy drive, a 12-play, 90-yard effort. Kenneth Rawls leaked out on a nice passing play, finding green grass on the backside of the play. Nick Semptimphelter found him easily for a 13-yard score.

From the start of the second quarter, the Blue Streaks would continue to extend their lead on the Owls.

A field goal from Colin Schuler was followed by a pair of touchdown passes from Nick Semptimphelter to Kenneth Rawls and Quincy Newsom. The Blue Streaks enjoyed a dominant 24-0 lead at the half.

The defense continued to show out, keeping Kenyon from doing much of anything. A nice tackle for loss by Jacob Hufnagel and Chris Golson stopped the Owls, forcing them to punt.

A 75-yard rushing touchdown from Nemo Jenkins on the first play of the drive sparked the Blue Streak offense in the second half. Jenkins ultimately rushed for 110 yards on 15 attempts, recording two touchdowns.

John Carroll's offense did its most damage in the third quarter, with its best 15 minutes of the game, putting up 21 points.
It was another great performance from Semptimphelter this afternoon. The grad student recorded 21-of-27 passing for 282 yards on a Kenyon defense that allowed 298 passing yards.

A 16-yard pass for a touchdown from Semptimphelter to Kenneth Rawls towards the end of the third quarter would be the fifth touchdown recorded for the graduate student.

Looking at the defensive side of the ball, Lamar Thomas, Eugene Gibbons, and Gino Blasini each recorded four tackles, with Chris Golson earning three.

Davon Bradley recorded 1.5 sacks to propel the defense, as well.

On the ground, the Blue Streaks outgained the Owls 194-8 and 298-62 for passing yards throughout the entire game. JCU's impressive 24 first downs helped to make another dominant NCAC victory possible for JCU.
