For just the third time in program history, John Carroll Football can claim a pair of Academic All-America® honorees.

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) released its Academic All-America® list today, with two Blue Streaks included.

Nick Semptimphelter and Grant Myers both are Academic All-America® selections as Second Teamers.

Semptimphelter is JCU's first quarterback to make the grade since 2005. Myers marks the third straight season of an offensive lineman making the cut, as Matt Wrather garnered honors in 2024 and 2023.

Grant Myers starred as the left tackle this past season, anchoring the offensive line. The Youngstown native helped to steer an overall youthful unit, providing excellent guidance to the younger players on the offensive line.

Myers played a critical role in keeping Semptimphelter safe and powering one of the most efficient offenses in NCAA Division III. JCU's completion percentage of 77.2% set a new standard for NCAA D-III. Myers garnered first team all-conference honors from the North Coast Athletic Conference and All-Region honors from D3football.com. While the Marketing major suffered a season-ending injury in the playoffs, Myers' impact continued to be felt as a team leader.

Nick Semptimphelter finished his career as one of the most impactful quarterbacks in John Carroll history. The graduate student guided a high-powered offense all the way to the round of four, just the third QB to achieve the feat. The Tennessean broke not just the NCAA Division III mark, but bested the previous all-NCAA record for completion percentage previously held by Oregon's Bo Nix, achieving a completion rate of 77.9%.

Semptimphelter's name will dot the updated JCU record book, setting a new JCU standard for passing yards in a season with 3,623. Semptimphelter finishes his career fourth in program history in passing TDs (74) and fifth in passing yards (6,535) as well as being the new leader in completion percentage. His 36 touchdowns against his 4 interceptions are impressive, as his ability to avoid mistakes was impressive.

For the season, Semptimphelter's resume includes D3football.com All-America (Fourth Team), D3football.com Regional Player of the Year, First Team All-NCAC, Gagliardi Trophy Semifinalist, NFF Campbell Trophy® Semifinalist, and two NCAC Athlete of the Week awards.

Myers and Semptimphelter are the 12th and 13th football players all-time to be recognized with Academic-All-America® honors.
