Green roared for a 3-0 record in her collegiate debut

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS – For the first time, John Carroll Women's Wrestling can claim an Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) Athlete of the Week.

A strong start to the season on Sunday has led to a happy Monday for the Blue Streaks. One of the team's first years made the cut as the AMCC Women's Wrestling Athlete of the Week.

Jaelyn Green earns the honor after notching a 3-0 record in her first collegiate action this past weekend.

On Sunday, the campaign opened at home for the Blue Streaks with the JCU Round Robin. Green made quite the debut, winning the 138 Blue Division bracket.

The first year grappler began her JCU career with quite the showing, needing just 48 seconds to pin her first foe, Bella Bradbury of Chatham. The Elyria native kept rolling in her next match, needing slightly longer to get the job done. But Green still got the pin win in two minutes and 11 seconds over Maya Garcia of Fairmount State.

Green concluded her day with another dominant win. The rookie rolled to an 11-0 tech fall victory over Samiah Seymour of Bethany to secure the first-place spot in the 138 Blue bracket.

Green and the Blue Streaks will look to keep rolling this weekend, hosting a pair of old Ohio Athletic Conference foes on Sunday, Heidelberg and Mount Union.
