Blue Streaks Fall to Yeomen on Sunday Afternoon Showdown

Box Score OBERLIN, OH. - The John Carroll men's tennis team took on Oberlin College on a sunny Sunday afternoon contest. The Blue Streaks were unable to get on the scoreboard and now fall to 4-4 on the year and 0-3 in the North Coast Athletic Conference. 

Starting in the doubles portion, JCU battled but could not come away with a point. In first doubles, Anthony Markello and Jean Davin lost the closest match by a result of 6-3. 

In the second doubles, Nathan Tam and Philip Gorun were on the wrong side of a 6-1 result. Rounding out the doubles match ups was Dylan Murlin and Cavan Boutillette losing 6-2. 

Transitioning to the singles portion of the afternoon, Davin battled but lost in the closest match 6-2, 7-5. 

Rounding out the top three for JCU was Markello and Gorun who were both defeated.

Tam, Murlin, and Boutillette were all defeated by a strong cast of Yeomen. 

John Carroll will be back in action next Saturday taking on Otterbein in Westerville, Ohio with a time to be announced.
