In their first game of the day, they defeated Concordia University of Chicago by a final score of 13-2, but lost in their second game to Anna Maria College 3-6.

John Carroll advances to 6-2 overall on the year and will return to University Heights with a solid start to their campaign.

The bats were alive for JCU this afternoon, earning their highest total number of runs in the first game.

Game 1

The Blue Streaks came right out of the gate in the first two innings, scoring a total of seven runs to set the tone early.

Izzy Coode had herself a day for the team. In Friday's matchup, Coode hit for the cycle in just four innings. She got the day started with a two-run homer and hit a triple to earn three RBIs.

Coode collected a total of eight RBIs on the day and helped the Blue Streaks to combine for 18 hits in five innings.

Both Elizabeth Hohleflelder and Jordan Anderson also joined the party, posting impressive performances to continue their momentum on the offensive side.

That wasn't all for Anderson as she put up a two-run homer to go up nine runs in the third inning.

On the mound, Anderson pitched for four innings and earned four strikeouts, while allowing one walk. The graduate student only allowed three hits against Concordia Chicago, earning her first win of the season.

Game 2

The Blue Streaks' momentum was put to a halt, losing to Anna Maria College in their final game in Florida.

Allowing five errors became a huge obstacle for the group to overcome as they were not able to find their stride.

Anna Maria College didn't allow a run until the fifth inning and used their pitching to their advantage, earning a total of six strikeouts across the board.

Izzy Coode continued to contribute as she picked up two hits, while earning one run on four at-bats.

Melissa Smith earned one RBI on two hits for the Blue Streaks.

In another Kristin Dems appearance, she allowed five runs, while collecting four strikeouts in her fourth start so far this season.

Softball will return back home with an impressive start to the season.
