Schroff, Rea, & Fritsch Highlight Split Squad Weekend For Women’s Track & Field At Bucknell & Mount Union

LEWISBURG, PA & ALLIANCE, OH – The Blue Streaks traveled to a couple of meets this weekend for their first split squad of the 2026 outdoor season. 

It was a successful weekend for the team as they came away with a school record and a couple of national ranked performances.

Both Anne Rea and Abby Schroff competed in the 10000 meter runs in the invitational section and both earned huge personal bests. Schroff is currently 15th in Division III, while Rea is 28th. 

Anne broke her personal best by two minutes, while Abby ran in her first ever 10000 meter race of her career. 

Another senior who had a breakthrough performance was Leah Fritsch as she broke the school record in the javelin throw with a mark of 42.78 meters (140' 4"). She broke the previous record by two meters. She currently sits in 10th in Division III. 
Looking at the results from Mount Union, the team was able to collect several new personal bests as well as conference marks. 

Both Aniela Balog and Tori Miller placed in the top five in their respective events. Miller would go on to win the triple jump with a mark of 11.15 meters (36' 7"). Balog placed third overall in the long jump. 

For the first time competing in the event in almost two years due to injury, Sara Gennuso earned a top finish in the triple jump with a mark of 10.91 meters (35' 9.5"); an incredible accomplishment for the junior out of Erie, PA. 

Going into the track events, the women's 4x100 meter relay would start the meet off on a high note. The team of Kaleigh McNamara, Dakota Houston, Paige Munchick, and Sandra King improved upon their time from last weekend and ran 47.18 seconds to win the event. 

In the 1500 meter run, sophomore Natalie Chryst led the way for the Blue Streaks, winning the event with a time of 4:50.89. This was her first time competing in the event in her career. 

Kylie Bennington and Meah Prutzman also earned personal bests in the 800 meter run and both rank 10th and 13th in the conference. 

It was a successful weekend for the women's track & field program as they will now prep for their next opportunity going into mid-April with just a few weeks away until the outdoor conference championships.

A small contingent will travel to Atlanta for the Georgia Tech Invite, while most of the team will compete at the 56th Sparky Adams Invite hosted by Baldwin Wallace next Friday-Saturday, April 17th-18th.
