The Blue Streaks head to Denison on Wednesday evening

GRANVILLE, Ohio – John Carroll Women's Lacrosse is headed to the North Coast Athletic Conference semifinals at Denison University.

The Blue Streaks are looking forward to their NCAC Tournament debut today.

JCU Women's Lacrosse will head to Granville to face the Denison University Big Red for the semifinal. The Blue Streaks just faced the Big Red for their last regular season game, falling short in a close 10-6 victory for Denison.

Junior midfielder Riley Knapp was a big leader for the Blue Streaks on Saturday, scoring a team-high 2 goals. Throughout the season, the Cazenovia, New York native has been a key part to the Blue Streak offense, scoring a total of 19 goals this season. Knapp has secured a team-high 33 ground balls on the season, helping the Blue Streaks on both ends of the field.

First-year standout Mea Musillo is the leading scorer for JCU Women's Lacrosse, scoring an impressive 31 goals on the season. She was a solid contributor for the Blue Streaks on their last time out, scoring once and securing 3 groundballs.

Another strong player for the Blue Streaks that needs to be mentioned is sophomore Anna Vaccarelli. The Medina native has the second-highest goal total on the season with 28 while contributing an impressive 21 groundballs for the year.

Finally, it needs to be mentioned that senior goalie, Josephine Lawler has been exceptional at the net. The Hudson native has secured 82 saves, notching an impressive .458 save percentage on the year. Lawler became the career saves leader earlier this year.

The Big Red will be a tough test. Denison enters the game with a 16-1 record, ranked #6 in the latest IWLCA top 25 poll. Denison has four ranked wins on the year. In conference play, Denison cruised to a 7-0 mark and the NCAC title, though Denison's closest match was against JCU.

The Blue Streaks are looking forward to a hard-fought match this evening and are hoping to advance to the finals of the NCAC Tournament.
