Five Individuals From The Women's Cross Country/Track & Field Program Named CSC Academic All-District From The 2025-2026 Seasons
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH. – The women's cross country/track & field program continues to excel both on the track and in the classroom.

On Tuesday, June 23rd, the College Sports Communicators announced the 2025-2026 Academic All-District Team, which highlights athletes who have achieved above a 3.5 cumulative GPA while also earning a top 50 individual performance in a NCAA regional competition or event.

Leah Fritsch, Dakota Houston, Rosie Murray, Anne Rea, and Abby Schroff all reached Academic All-District status for the 2025-2026 season.

Four of the five athletes have achieved this academic accomplishment for the first time in their careers. This is the third straight year for Schroff being recognized with this award.

In her final year as a Blue Streak, Leah Fritsch became a huge contributor for the team. In the midst of the outdoor season, she broke the school record in the javelin throw with a mark of 42.78 meters (140' 4"), enough to qualify for her first NCAA Outdoor Championship meet, where she placed 18th overall. She went on to win the individual title in the javelin at the 2026 NCAC Outdoor Championships and earn a fourth place finish in the pole vault. Fritsch earned her degree in Engineering Physics.

Dakota Houston had another stellar year for the Blue Streaks as a sophomore. The Beachwood native earned four First-Team All-American honors in both the indoor and outdoor seasons, as well as helped the 4x100 meter relay to earn Second-Team All-America with a 10th place finish. She broke numerous school records and was named the 2026 NCAC Women's Sprinter Athlete of the Meet after winning four individual titles at the conference championships. Houston is pursuing her undergrad in communications.

Rosie Murray returned to the program in her final year and became a valuable sprinter to both relays in the outdoor season. She helped the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relays qualify for the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships and was named a Second-Team All-American in the 4x100 meter relay. Murray contributed to breaking both the indoor and outdoor school records in the 4x400 meter relay. Murray earned her degree in Exercise Science.

As a sophomore, Anne Rea shined when it mattered most this season. After battling an injury that put her out for most of the indoor season, she bounced back and impressed. The St. Vincent/St. Mary grad won her first NCAC Championship in the 5000 meter run with a time of 17:14.21 and finished as the runner up in the 10000 meter run. Previous to that 10000 meter finish, Rea placed herself in national contention in the event with a time of 36:19.20 at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Rea finished 48th in Division III with that time. Anne is currently pursuing her degree in Biochemistry with minors in Mathematics and History.

Lastly, Abby Schroff had herself one of the best years in JCU history for the women's program. She was named the 2026 NCAC Women's Distance Athlete of the Meet at both the indoor and outdoor conference championships, helping her team to secure both team championships. Abby collected a total of five individual championships at both meets and was named USTFCCCA All-Region. Schroff also broke school records in the 3000 and 5000 meter runs this season, as well as the distance medley relay. The now JCU grad will go on to attend the University of Cincinnati/Cincinnati Children's as a genetic counseling student.

The Academic All-District honorees will advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second-, and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced on July 15th.
