The Blue Streaks will be chasing after reigning champion DePauw

CLEVELAND – In the second year as members of the North Coast Athletic Conference, John Carroll Men's Soccer is hoping to ascend.

A year ago, the Blue Streaks tied for fifth place in the conference standings. On Tuesday, the NCAC released its annual preseason coaches' poll, which closely reflects last year's results.

The Blue Streaks stand in sixth in the NCAC poll with 39 points.

Reigning champion DePauw narrowly holds onto first place in the poll with 75 points and 7 first-place votes, returning all of its five all-conference honorees from a year ago. Denison trails in second with 73 points and the other 2 first-place votes.

Kenyon, Wooster, and Ohio Wesleyan all stand above JCU in the rankings.

John Carroll will begin its sixth season under the direction of Head Coach Dejan Mladenovic '06. The Blue Streaks will start the season on September 1 vs. Westminster at 7 pm on the turf of Don Shula Stadium.
