Women’s Cross Country Places Ninth Overall At MSU’s Spartan Invite

EAST LANSING, MI. – The Blue Streaks posted an impressive team performance this morning. 

The women competed on Friday, September 11th at the Forest Akers Golf Course on Michigan State University's campus for the Spartan Invite. 

JCU placed ninth overall with a total score of 294 points going against the very best programs in Division I, as well as some of the top programs in both Division II and III. 

Individual & Team Results

Crossing the finish line first for the Blue Streaks was Samantha Goodnough. The Olmsted Falls native earns her first highest finish for the team in her career, placing 61st overall with a time of 22:29.7. This time also earns her a new personal best in the 6k.

Not too far behind was Anne Rea, placing 64th overall with a time of 22:33.2, making her 2026 debut for JCU. 

Morgan Dobos was the third Blue Streak to finish as she placed 92nd overall, clocking in at 23:08.3, followed by Kylie Bennington earning a 94th place finish with a time of 23:11.4. 

Rounding out the top five was Natalie Chryst, who made a strong finish in the last 1k to finish 115th overall with a time of 23:30.6. 

Maddie Harrington (23:34.4) and Meah Prutzman (24:09.3) both placed 121st and 153rd to close that gap for JCU. 

The team was able to defeat a few of their regional opponents and take away a valuable performance that can benefit them down the road, as well as experience performing on the championship course in mid-November.

The women will compete in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania for the 52nd Paul Short Run hosted by Lehigh University on Friday, October 2nd. Meet information to come that week.
